Description

The region of Grevena is exclusively mountainous with green forests and biodiversity. The cultivation of chickpeas dates back to the 18th century. It is grown at an altitude of over 670 metres, in a variety of soils ranging from heavy clay to light sandy soils with a pH of 6-8. On these sloping soils the organic micro-seeded Grevena chickpeas of the Greek varieties Amorgos and Thebes are grown. They are perfectly adapted to the microclimate of the area. They are dry spring-sown crops with mild cultivation practices and respect for the environment. They are thin-skinned, delicious with a rich earthy flavour.:
